WHAT IS CIA?
CIA, Christians in Action, is a group of Christians concerned about the state of the family, the Church, the nation, and the world. CIA focuses on a different social or cultural topic each month, shining God's truth in these areas. We accomplish this task through:
-- Education
--Material and resource distribution
-- Displays on ministry tables and bulletin boards in our participating churches
-- Guest speakers and media presentations
MISSION STATEMENT:
To educate the church body as to how cultural issues may be influencing their family and the individual.
To provide suggestions for practical ways to impact our culture.
To encourage participation in our political process through voter registration and education of the candidates’ positions.
To spread the concept of CIA to other area churches. Churches currently involved: Chestnut Ridge Baptist, Beulah Baptist, Cornerstone Baptist.

WORLD VIEW ISSUES SERIES!!!!Jan. 18, 2009: The Occult: special guest speaker: James Walker, President, of Watchman Fellowship, an independent Christian research and apologetics ministry focusing on new religious movements, cults, the occult, and the New Age. James Walker is a former fourth generation Mormon with over twenty years of ministry experience in the field of Christian counter-cult evangelism, apologetics, and discernment. He has been interviewed as an expert on new religious movements and cults on a variety of network television programs including Nightline, ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, and The News Hour with Jim Lehrer. He has spoken at hundreds of churches, colleges, universities, and seminaries throughout the United States and internationally.
Worship services: 8:30 am & 10:50 am: “Paul’s Psychic Friend: Christian Answers to Occult Powers.”
9:40-10:40: “The Truth behind The Secret: A Reasoned Response to the Runaway Best-Seller.” Explores the false teaching behind “The Secret” that “thoughts become things” and discusses the occult connection that underlies “The Secret.”
6-7 pm: “From Mormonism to Christianity” James Walker, a former fourth generation Mormon, takes you on a fascinating journey of faith. James held the Mormon Aaronic Priesthood and served as a Deacon, Teacher, and Priest performing Baptism for the Dead in the Mormon temple in Salt Lake City. His whole life was radically changed for eternity when he lost faith in the Book of Mormon and his own good works and received the free gift of Christ by grace through faith.

Jan. 25, 2009: Pornography. Did you know that 50% of Christian men, and 20% of Christian women are addicted to pornography? (ChristiaNet poll, 2006)
Tony Crouch will be addressing this issue during the worship services.
Feb. 1, 2009: Understanding Islam. CIA is sponsoring a special guest speaker and expert on this issue.

9:40-10:40: “The Muslim Family vs. the Biblical View of the Family”
Feb. 8, 2009: Creation Science: Special guest speaker: Dr. Jay McMurray, who will be sharing about “Why is There Death, Disease, and Suffering?”

Jan. 21st: cults “Understanding Jehovah’s Witnesses.” "This DVD from the North American Mission Board presents a clear picture of what Jehovah's Witnesses believe and gives practical strategies for presenting the gospel to them. You will get clear answers to your questions concerning this controversial American-made religion."
Jan. 28th: “Escaping the Porn Trap,” (video). Details the pitfalls of pornography and how to escape this destructive addiction. Come learn more about pornography. You never know when you might need this information to help out a friend or relative!
Feb. 4th: "Islam: Religion of Peace?" Informative DVD that describes the history and theology of Islam, and tools for witnessing to Muslims.
Feb. 11th: Creation Science: “Unlocking the Mystery of Life: The Case for Intelligent Design.” Provides solid evidence for Intelligent Design, and shows that life could not have arisen by random chance. (video)
