ADULT MINISTRY

THE RIDGE MEN

Becoming an authentic man of God ought to be the goal and driving passion of every man’s heart. At CRBC, we understand the importance of being men of God; and we want to provide opportunities for men to grow in their faith toward God and their love for their families. With that in mind, we continue to offer men’s Bible study opportunities as well as hands-on ministry and mission projects to build partnership, fellowship and accountability.

THE RIDGE WOMEN

The Women’s Ministry at CRBC exists to minister to, motivate and mentor women to become godly women, wives, mothers and servants of God.

S.A.I.N.T.S

Caleb, in Joshua 14, is 85 years old when he takes on the greatest challenge of his life.  The senior adult ministry at CRBC will be expanding, adding new and exciting opportunities to minister to others and build community with other senior adults.

We offer a Tuesday morning Bible Study every Tuesday at 11:30am followed by homemade lunch prepared by our church hostess.

We have a Quilting Ministry that meets every first and third Tuesday of the month. 9:30-11:30am.  They make prayer quilts, quilts to auction off for mission work and other items to fund their ministry.

We also have individuals that volunteer at local schools to help with tutoring and reading.

Most people say that separation and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they have ever experienced.  It's a confusing time when people feel isolated and have lots of questions about issues they have never faced before.  DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help those facing these challenges and move toward rebuilding their lives.  Each session has two distinctive elements; a video seminar with experts and a focused support group time.  In addition there are materials for personal study and reflection.  DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside others through one of life's most difficult experiences.  No one should go through separation or divorce alone. Here at Chestnut Ridge we offer DivorceCare in the Spring of each year. Learn more at DivorceCare.org

In the days, weeks, months and years after the death of a loved one it may be hard for people to feel optimistic about their future.  For those who have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, they have probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt they are feeling.  It can be a very confusing time when others feel isolated and have many questions about things they've never faced before.  GriefShare groups meet weekly to help others face these challenges and move toward rebuilding their lives.  Each GriefShare session contains video seminars with experts, focused support group discussion and time for personal study and reflection.  GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside those grieving through one of life's most difficult experiences.  No one should have to go through the grieving process alone.  GriefShare is offered every fall.  Learn more at GriefShare.org

Family Promise is a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence.  It allows families to stay together and not be split up.  Churches host the families for a week at a time and during the day while the kids go to school, the parents are helped to learn skills to get back on their feet.

Craig Melvin with The Today Show did a piece on Family Promise of the Midlands.  (You can watch it here.)  It does a great job of showing how Family Promise works and how it benefits those who use its services.  You can find out more about this nationwide program by visiting FamilyPomise.org.   Our local FamilyPromise has a facebook page.
